About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Scientist to drive the design and deployment of our Trade Promotion Optimization (TPO) solution. This is a critical role requiring deep expertise in mathematical optimization and proven experience in delivering production-grade solutions. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical depth with business acumen to solve complex CPG trade promotion challenges.

Experience Level: 8+ years in Data Science / Advanced Analytics

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of optimization models (LP, NLP, MILP, heuristic methods) for trade promotion planning and execution.
Translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable optimization frameworks.
Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to integrate models into production systems.
Drive experimentation, validation, and performance tuning of optimization and forecasting models.
Provide technical leadership and mentor junior data scientists in best practices.
Ensure end-to-end delivery from research to deployment in production environments.

Required Qualifications

Master’s/PhD in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
7+ years of hands-on experience in mathematical optimization (Linear Programming, Nonlinear Programming, Integer Programming, Constraint Programming, heuristic methods, etc.).
Proven track record of building and deploying optimization models in real-world production systems.
Proficiency in Python (Pyomo,pulp, OR-Tools, Gurobi, CPLEX, etc.) and modern ML frameworks.
Strong knowledge of CPG trade promotion domain preferred.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate analytics into actionable business outcomes.

Nice to Have

Experience with cloud platforms (Azure Databricks) for scalable deployment.

Familiarity with pricing, revenue growth management, or promotion planning in CPG.
