What do we expect?

We are seeking a Python Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on expert in data extraction and transformation, with a proven ability to manage and automate processes involving large datasets. This role is perfect for a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual who excels at converting legacy systems and collaborating with senior business stakeholders. Familiarity to BFS Domain would be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Data Extraction & Analysis: Design, develop, and execute complex queries and Python scripts for list generation and data extraction from various sources.
Legacy Code Modernization: Spearhead the conversion of legacy SAS code to more efficient Python and SQL scripts.
Process Automation: Develop and implement robust automation solutions for data transformation and reporting to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Large Dataset Management: Apply a solid understanding of data management principles to handle, process, and analyze large datasets effectively.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with senior stakeholders to understand business requirements, present data-driven insights, and support strategic decision-making.
Problem Solving: Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot data-related issues and ensure data integrity.

Skills and Qualifications

Experience: 3+ years
Core Languages: Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and SAS.
Data Expertise: Proven expertise in list generation and complex data extraction.
System Migration: Direct experience in converting legacy SAS code to Python and/or SQL.
Domain Knowledge: Experience working in the Banking and Financial Services (BFS) domain.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills with experience working directly with senior stakeholders.

Good to Have

Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
Experienced with Python data science packages like Pandas, numpy, sklearn etc.
Understanding of shell scripting, python package development is a plus.
