The role involves monitoring BI operations, troubleshooting issues, optimizing queries and data models, and ensuring smooth performance of Power BI environments. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve problems, manage user access, and drive continuous improvements in BI solutions.
- Monitor daily operations of Power BI dashboards, reports, and data refreshes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to datasets, gateways, and scheduled refresh failures.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues.
- Optimize DAX, SQL, and data models to improve report performance.
- Manage user access, roles, and permissions within Power BI Service.
- Handle user queries and provide support for report usage and functionality.
- Collaborate with database administrators, ETL developers, and business stakeholders for issue resolution.
- Support the deployment of new reports and updates into production environments.
- Maintain documentation of support processes, incident logs, and version control.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability across BI environments.
- Provide continuous improvement recommendations for BI solutions and processes.
