About the role:
As a Principal Nautical Expert (Master Mariner), you will serve as the critical operational liaison between our global fleet and
the Digital Twin/Analytics project team. You will be the ultimate guardian of navigational integrity, ensuring that complex
analytical models particularly in voyage and weather re-routing are operationally sound, safe, and commercially viable.

 Voyage & Routing Integrity: Act as the SME to validate weather re-routing algorithms, applying real-world knowledge
of ship handling, seakeeping, and navigational constraints (TSS, piracy zones, etc.) to ensure model outputs are
actionable for Masters.
 Digital Twin Validation: Provide expert feedback on container vessel Digital Twins, using VDR and high-frequency
sensor data to ensure performance predictions (fuel, speed, ETA) reflect actual sea conditions and loading states.
 Operational Analytics & Training: Define critical data points for model calibration and design change management
programs to help bridge teams integrate digital tools into their professional judgment.
 Safety & Compliance Leadership: Ensure all optimization models strictly adhere to international regulations (SOLAS,
MARPOL, ISM Code) and lead operational risk assessments for all new digital navigational tools.

Engagement Terms (Contractual):
Duration: This is a fixed-term contractual role available from Mid-April through the end of August.
Commitment: Part-time engagement requiring a 5-hour daily commitment.

Job Requirement
Required Skills, Competencies & Experience:

 Maritime Certification: Mandatory Certificate of Competency (CoC) as a Master Mariner
 12–20 years of total maritime experience, including significant time in command of container vessels and shoreside
roles (e.g., Marine Superintendent or Fleet Performance).
 Domain Expertise: Deep practical knowledge of vessel routing, charter party obligations, weather impact on ship
handling, and cargo securing.
 Digital Proficiency: Proven experience with Route Optimization Systems and familiarity with meteorological data
models.
 Analytical Tooling: Hands-on experience with VDR playback analysis and the ability to interpret data trends via
